WITHOUT OUR VOLUNTEERS, CREW WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE! 

As part of the Membership Commitment, every Crew family must serve a minimum of TWO volunteer service shifts each year:

  • at least one “Oakton Crew” volunteer service shift

    AND

  • at least one “VASRA” volunteer service shift

If any OHS Crew family does not fulfill BOTH of these requirements, they will be assessed a $300 fee.

IMPORTANT: if you do not show up at the VASRA hut on time and serve your entire shift, VASRA will fine OHS Crew, so PLEASE make sure you honor this commitment. Come dressed appropriately for the weather and conditions, and DO NOT wear RED. If you have a change of plans, you are responsible for finding someone who can fulfill the shift you signed up for. Good news: VASRA volunteers get to park at Sandy Run for free on regatta days! No shuttle for you that day! All VASRA volunteer jobs are described in detail here and here. Many of these jobs are very exciting and fun because you get a chance to see the races up close! And you will also be allowed to take a break to watch your own rower race.
